More ruffled scarves

I haven't taken photos of all of them, but I do have these:

The rose one is the same pattern, although I rolled it up for this picture.  Looks like a rose to me, although some ladies said they saw a muffin.

Etc.

Today, I had a nice visit with our former neighbor and BFF, Sue.  I was wearing the new scarf I made which you've seen on my blog.  She liked it and I told her that I'd make her one.  So, I started it when I got home.

Sue sews wonderful doll clothes and I bought some for our grand-daughter's American Girl doll for Christmas.  She is going to love these!

It hardly seems possible that two weeks from today is Christmas Eve!  Shopping (except for today's doll clothes) has barely begun.  So, we will be out in the crowds tomorrow.

Scarf....recently completed ......

This is a "potato chip" scarf that I made myself.  It was super easy and fun to do.  It is about 40" long, although will stretch out a bit longer.

I'm now making another for a gift in a variegated darker color.  When finished, I'll post here for you to see.

Knitting project

Last week, I began knitting a new scarf for myself. Its one of those ruffly, twirly things you may have seen. The name of the pattern is "potato chip scarf" and it is such fun to work on and more than easy. As soon as I finish it (soon) will post a pic here for you to see.

Knitted blocks..........

Yesterday, I sorted through the knitted blocks I made last year after completing the large afghan for son and his wife's Christmas gift.  When their two children commented that they would like their own blankets, I began knitting blocks again.  Of course, as usual, I went overboard on the time spent knitting and had very sore hands and wrists!  So, the blocks were put aside.  Since its now November, I began thinking of Christmas and then had a lightbulb moment......putting together the blankets for the grandchildren.

I laid out the blocks and sewed one row together last night.  I did leave them as they were (on the living room carpet) and will sew more today.  Stay tuned for pictures of the pink/purple/green blanket.  Then, onto the boy colors for the second one.

Of course, I will have MANY leftover blocks.....maybe I'll donate them to the church group???  Don't think hubby & I need more blankets!

Have a great day!

P.S.  See the Dec. 16, 2010 post for a pic of the blanket I made last year.

Knitting just a bit............

There are SO many projects I hope to knit/crochet, so I've gradually been knitting....mainly diagonal dishcloths.  However, I did knit a baby hat for a new baby boy in the family. Will post a pic of it ASAP!

Yearning to knit!

I'm really missing knitting and crocheting, which I haven't done for a few months now.  I did try, but my thumbs hurt yet.  Plus, I don't like the feel of yarn in my sticky fingers....it has been hot and humid this summer!  Hopefully, soon it will cool down and my thumbs will have gotten more rest.  Will try working on something soon (when its cool)!

Happy Labor Day weekend

Knitted blocks finished!

Today, I finished the edging (lavender) around the girlie colored blocks I've been making.  This blanket will be for my grand-daughter.  I also have a huge pile of more boyish or adult blocks for my grandson.  They are edged with navy blue.  Will complete the girl one after my hands have rested for a bit.

I'm so excited!  Its nearly spring and is supposed to reach 60 degrees here tomorrow!

Happy knitting and crocheting!

Knitting!

Since shortly after Christmas, I've been knitting 8x10" (more or less) sized blocks in various patterns and colors to add to those left over from the last big blanket. One will be for our 6+ year old grandson and one for our 8+ year old granddaughter. Eventually, I will deplete my yarn stash. Slowly but surely, my hands are able to knit but I know not to overdo.

Hope you're having a good 2011 so far.... most of us have had lots of snow which makes life interesting and beautiful.

Happy Knitting!
