Knitting wishes............

I really miss knitting!  Of course, I did knit a bit this year, but mostly dishcloths.  But, the REAL knitting is what I want to do now!  My thumb still bothers me though, so will let it rest for a while.  Machine piecing and top stitching can be done without pain, so that's what I'll stick with for now.  Although I've had to abandon hand-quilting and do miss it, at least I can quilt.

Wishing you all the best for the coming new year (2011).

Finally, the blanket is finished!

This is one heavy blanket, so it should keep son and wife warm!  Now, I need to gift-wrap it.

I still have more knitted blocks so maybe one more?

A few years ago, after making these squares for our church knitting group, I also made lots of blocks at home for my own use.  That first one was mine, the I made my daughter one, and now son and family will have one.

Here we are in December...........

.........And, the blanket hasn't been touched since January.  My hands are better than they were back then, but I still can't do much knitting or crocheting, or even much hand-stitching quilts.

Currently, I'm finishing up a quilt I began for my son a couple years ago.  It is in memory of his beloved K-9 partner Jag.  Just a couple more days of hand-sewing the binding on and another row of decorative stitching and it will be done.  Then.......I will finish sewing together the rows of the knitted squares and add a couple rows of crochet around the completed blanket.  I hate having to leave things unfinished and this will be a relief to say the least.

Happy knitting & crocheting!
